  • What is the difference between a mat and a grid? [Hide]
    Mats are hinged so they can be easily rolled to remove collected soil and moisture. Grids utilize a tread bar system bolted into rugged channels or shallow pits.
  • Are custom shapes available? [Hide]
    Yes, on most models, Balco can create the custom shape of your choice.
  • How do the specifications differ between standard carpet tread vs. heavy duty carpet tread [Hide]
    Standard specs are as follows: Carpet, Polyamide 6 (Nylon 6) yarn, solution dyed nylon 3900 / 3 ply air entangled, 0.350 inch (8.9 mm) pile height, with anti static treatment, an extruded denier of 1300, a final denier of 3900 - 4200, a total filament count of 171, with a denier per filament of 22.8, 13 stitches per inch, 0.300" pile height, 30 oz. / sq. yd., with a double coat backing of polypropylene and a proprietary blended Alathon coat. Carpet width is 1.156 + or - .030.
    Heavy Duty specs are as follows: Carpet, Heavy Duty, Polypropylene commercial matting yarn, texturized 80/20 blend of 600/12 multifilament and 595 denier monofilament, 0.350 inch (8.9 mm) pile height, 25.2 oz. at 12 pics/6 pile ends, solution dyed with polypropylene backing fusion bonded to guard against fraying, delamination, or moisture penetration. Strip width is 1.160".
