Course Description     This course explores the life safety aspects of expansion joint systems, stair nosing systems, and photoluminescent egress systems.

Learning Objectives     Upon completion of this course you will be able:

  • To define the purpose and applications for parking structure expansion joint systems;
  • To identify various types of fire barriers to achieve fire-rated expansion joint systems;
  • To compare various types of stair nosings and how they are designed to provide skid resistance;
  • To understand the concept of photoluminescent safety egress systems and the basic components involved in these systems.
